Subject: FW: Tax
Thank you for your email, which has been shared with our office for follow up.
I understand that you have concerns with the GST tax being applied to your purchases. GoDaddy has recently started charging GST on purchases by Australian customers. As of July 1, 2017, Godaddy charges VAT tax/GST to Australian customers. This tax is only applicable to B2C customers (business-to-consumer). If you have a valid VAT ID, you would need to enter it into your customer profile, or during your cart purchase to exempt yourself from the VAT tax, in which the current rate is 10%. All products sold by GoDaddy are considered subject to VAT/GST.
While we understand this change is frustrating, GoDaddy is simply responding to government action in the region in which your account is billed. Any taxes collected by GoDaddy are remitted to the appropriate authorities in Australia.
